What eBay charges a seller

For most items eBay charges a final value fee of 13.6% of the sale total up to $7,500 and 2.35% of the part above, plus $0.30 per order of $10 or less or $0.40 above. The sale total includes the shipping the buyer pays and the sales tax. Some categories pay less or more: books and music, trading cards, watches, guitars, athletic shoes from $150, jewelry and handbags. The calculator matches the item to one of 14 rows of the US table and shows the date of the rates with a link to the eBay fee page.

Store, ads and Top Rated Plus

Pick your store level, turn on Top Rated Plus (10% off the percentage part), add the promoted listings rate in percent, sales tax or an international buyer (1.65%), and every number updates at once. Insertion fees after 250 listings a month, Priority and Offsite ads, below-standard surcharges, returns and currency conversion are not counted, so eBay's invoice stays the final word.

Questions

Is this a website or an extension?

An extension for Google Chrome. It adds a small panel to item pages on eBay.com, so you see the fees and your profit on the listing itself instead of copying numbers to a calculator site.

How is the eBay final value fee counted?

The category rate times the sale total (item price, shipping charged to the buyer and sales tax), plus a per-order fee of $0.30 for orders of $10 or less and $0.40 above. Most categories pay 13.6% up to $7,500 and 2.35% on the part above.

Which countries does it cover?

eBay.com with the US fee table. The UK, Australia and Canada have their own tables and are not in this version.

Does it send my costs anywhere?

No. The extension reads the price, shipping, title and category from the item page, keeps your costs and saved items in your browser and makes no network requests. There is no account and no sign-up.
